Chocolate "Nice Cream"

My favorite summer treat! This hits the spot when I'm craving something sweet and cold but is made with real foods and has no refined added sugar. One of the biggest benefits of quitting sugar was increasing my sensitivity to sweetness. Bananas are super sweet but also contain lots of important vitamins and minerals, so they're one of my preferred choices for sweeteners. You definitely taste them in this recipe but they go well with the chocolate and nut butter. Get fancy with your toppings to take this to the next level.

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium frozen bananas (ideally freeze them in small chunks so they blend more easily

  • a tablespoon of sugar free nut butter (I used almond butter but hazlenut butter would be fab)

  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 1/2 cup almond milk

  • Optional toppings:

  • chopped walnuts

  • sugar free chocolate hazelnut spread

  • cacao nibs

  • chopped strawberries

Instructions:

  1. Blend it all up in a food processor with the s blade.

  2. Eat immediately for a soft serve texture. Freeze for 30 mins if you want a hard ice cream texture.

  3. Enjoy!!
